Seaport Village was built on landfill where the Spanish expedition of 1782 buried those who had died of scurvy. In later years, it served as a railroad yard to send items east that arrived by ship.

Warning: make sure you validate your parking ticket...didn't even think about it until I was paying the attendant $16 for one and a half hours 😕
Visit "Hot Licks" - a hot sauce store. Even if hot sauce is not your thing, you'll get a kick out of all the funny hot sauce labels. Also, check-in at Seaport Village and get 20% discount mall-wide.
Loved all the little shops and the feel of the village in general. I always come here at least once if only to just walk around when I visit San Diego.
